Don’t Start Smoking Storyboard Coloring Contest

The “Don't Start” Contest is a drawing and writing contest for children in grades kindergarten through fifth grade. Students in public, private, and home-schools show why people should never start to smoke through words and pictures.

Contest materials, such as storyboards, a teacher’s packet and video, are provided to schools to help students learn about the dangers of smoking and the importance of making wise choices for good health. Prizes are awarded to the top three entries in each grade level. A televised Public Service Announcement (PSA) is developed from the grand prize winner’s storyboard. The contest is underwritten by Arkansas Blue Cross Blue Shield.
